Hosting Mitsubishi Electric Taiwan Co., Ltd.

Mr. Motokazu Inaba, Consultant for Setsuyo Astec Corporation (Taiwan Mitsubishi Electric Automation Co., Ltd.) and Former President of Taiwan Mitsubishi Electric, was invited to deliver a speech at YunTech and paid a visit to the Department of Electrical Engineering in May 2024. Accompanied by Professor Ya-Hsin Hsueh from the Department of Electronics Engineering and received by faculty members of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Mr. Inaba provided remarkable industry insights on fields such as automation equipment, motors, robotics, smart manufacturing, and the Internet of Things. He also called at laboratories of Professor Chian C. Ho and Professor Chun-Chi Lai. Additionally, Mr. Inaba shared valuable opinions on the R&D mindset of Japanese-based multinational companies, the establishment of dedicated research institutes, collaboration models with universities, competition and cooperation methods with related companies, and significant annual expenditures on research and development of new technologies.

Mr. Motokazu Inaba presided over international business in Japan, with extensive experience in corporate management. Over his 42-year career at Mitsubishi Electric, he has witnessed the development of multinational companies and generational changes in different sectors of Japanese society. He offered a speech on "Exploring the Unique Path of Japanese Manufacturing and Creating the Characteristics of Evergreen Enterprises," where he shared his profound insights into Japanese corporate culture and the transformations and challenges faced by the Japanese manufacturing industry in the highly competitive global market. The speech covered several important topics, including the impact of Japanese history on corporate culture and customs, and how companies survive in adversity. Taking the success stories of companies under the Mitsubishi Group as examples, Mr. Inaba delved into the strategies and practices for expanding the business of Japanese manufacturing and discussed the transformation and future goals of manufacturing industries in global competition. This visit was of immense value to provide YunTech faculty and students with direct interactions with such an experienced respectable entrepreneur, greatly benefiting us by broadening international horizons and understanding of future trends.
