2020 Academic Year

Credit Requirements and Regulations (for students enrolled in the 2020 academic year)

Four-Year Undergraduate Program
Total 136 credits required to graduate (for students enrolled in the 2020 academic year).

  • Compulsory: 100 credits = 30 credits (basic) + 70 credits (professional)

 

  • Elective: 36 credits (including taking courses from other departments: 15 credits)

 

  • Students are allowed to take courses from other departments. However, the maximum credits for these courses are 15 credits, which can be counted as the total credits for graduation. In addition, in each semester, only one of these courses (up to 3 credits) can be counted as the total credits for graduation.

 

  • Students ought to take at least 4 practice courses in our department in the third and fourth year. (If students take these courses, which are Industry Internship (I) & (II) and Summer Industry Internship and pass them, each of them can be regarded as one practice courses in our department.)

 

  • In order to meet the graduation requirements, students ought to take at least 1 of the following 6 courses before graduation: Introduction to Embedded System, Design Practices for FPGA System, SOC Application and Lab, Low Power MCU Application and Lab, Introduction to VLSI Design, Electronic Circuit Design. (There is no limitation if students want to take more than 1 course.)

 

  • The fifth-year high school students, who are enrolled in the undergraduate program of our department by using the equivalent education level ability, require all the graduation credits described above. Besides, they need to gain additional 18 credits as the credits for graduation. (Students can take any courses offered from our university as the additional 18 credits for graduation. In addition, in each semester, the credits of these courses that students taken from other departments can be counted as the credits for graduation without an upper limit.)

 

  • Students who are enrolled in the undergraduate program starting from 2014 Fall Semester must complete industry internship before graduation. (Students who are physically and mentally disabled, Mainland Chinese students, oversea Chinese students, and foreign students, etc. are excluded.) The methods of industry internship include:
    1.Take "Industry Internship"Course (Industry Internship(I)(II) or Summer Industry Internship).
    2. Take "Senior Design(I)&(II)" Courses.
    3. Participate in the industry-academia cooperation cases.
    4. Project internship. (Choose 1 of the above 4 methods to complete the requirement.)

 

  • Note: Except the elective courses from the curriculums in our department, others are calculated as courses from other departments. (For example: Language Courses, Military Education, Physical Education, etc.)

Master's Program
Total 32 credits required to graduate (including 6 credits for the thesis).

  • Compulsory: 8 credits = 2 credits (Seminar) + 6 credits (Master Thesis)

 

  • Elective: 24 credits (Students in the Industry Practice Group are required for an internship in the industry or participating industry-academia cooperation cases before graduation.)

 

  • According to "Graduate Students’ Degree Examination Measures" of our university, student who are enrolled in the graduate and doctorate programs starting from 2017 Fall Semester must complete academic ethics education courses on AREE (Center for Taiwan Academic Research Ethics Education) and pass the exam before the end of the first year of his / her enrollment. The students that have not passed this course are not allowed to apply for degree examination.

In-service Master's Program

  • Matters related to students’ course selection are set in accordance with "Department of Electrical Engineering - In-service Master’s Program Academic Regulations" of our university.

 

  • Compulsory: 8 credits = 2 credits (Seminar) + 6 credits (Master Thesis)

 

  • Elective: 24 credits

 

(These requirements are adopted in Chinese, which shall prevail in case of any discrepancy between the English translation and the Chinese original.)
